Common Questions
Before You Write
Can I really visit before I buy?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. We'll send you a 7-day access permit so you can spend time on the claim, do some panning, walk the boundaries, and sleep on it. We'd rather have a confident buyer than a reluctant one.
What equipment can I use on the claim?
Both claims are placer claims on BLM-managed land. We allow recreational equipment (gold pans, sluice boxes, hand tools) to be used. No highbankers nor suction dredges are permitted even with appropriate permits.
How does the purchase work?
Outright purchase at $2,500 — cash or bank check. We handle all BLM transfer paperwork and cover the transfer costs. Once paid, the claim is yours free and clear to work, sell, or transfer as you see fit.
Are there annual maintenance fees after purchase?
Yes — all BLM placer claims require an annual maintenance fee (currently $200/year or small miner waiver) paid to the BLM to keep the claim active. This is separate from our sale price and is your responsibility after transfer. We'll make sure you're set up correctly.
I'm a complete beginner. Is this right for me?
Yes, with the right expectations. You don't need prior mining experience to own a claim — you need curiosity and a willingness to learn. Both claims have easy access and good camping, so you can take your time getting started. We're happy to share what we know about working these specific creeks.
Can I buy both claims?
Yes — if you're interested in acquiring both, let us know and we can discuss a package arrangement.
